Today the VJC Soccer team lost 5-4 on sudden death penalties, to Meridian Junior College, failing in a bid to nab our record 4th national schools title.

As the guys trooped out of the field, their face wet with tears, and some sobbing uncontrollably, I kept telling them not to cry, and to hold their heads up high. It was rather hypocritical, since I knew, not too long ago, I was in their position, and the only thing I did was sob and tear and sob and tear, over a match that had just ended in defeat.

It all seemed only too real, like a flashback, a mirror I was looking at. It brought me back to a young age of 13, all the way to 16, where a year of hardwork only lead to a decisive defeat.

4 years in a row, I had to watch as another team lifted the trophy, and 4 years ina row, I had to see the opposition crowd whipped into hysteria and proudly singing their school songs, and waing their banners and flags so proudly.

And here it was happening rite in front of me. I left before the opposition team lifted the trophy and shit, somehow until now, it still makes my stomach churn.

But somehow, the failures I experienced in secondary school made me a stronger person, and contributed somewhat to the golden years in JC, till today I still refuse to ignore where I came from, cos they made me what I am.

I only hope and pray that the guys today will grow stronger from this experience. They are a brilliant bunch of players who deserve the brightest future.

What doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

Ten Reasons why Uni and Me will win the Amazing Race

1) Uni, is one of the most naturally fit girls I know, foot races, and road blocks are a foregone conclusion

2) Being small people, we need less to carry around, so our bags will be much lighter - can run faster!

3) Uni is superb at talking to people, well have absolutely no prob asking for money, calling cabs, searching for places....

4) I'm a sucker for competition, my desire not to lose is so strong, it'll keep us all the way through.

5) Any bad luck I have, will def be neutralised by Uni, whom i think has much better karma than me.

6) Roadblocks and detours are not a problem, we got the brains, and the brawn man.

7) Any trishaw riding would see us edging in front, cos our trishaw rider needs the least effort. LOL.

8) In case Uni's tired, I can give her a piggy back! No problem.

9) Uni rarely complains, and I rarely stop.

10) Its hightime asians won this damn thing, and teach those ang mohs a thing or two.

I am hanging on every word you say, and
Even if you don't want to speak tonight,
That's alright, alright with me.
Cos I want nothing more,
Than sit outside heaven's door,
And listen to you breathing,
Is where I wanna be.

Wow, finally got my laptop back, but im glad i have this baby back, no matter how bulky she is or what not, really my saviour sia...

May the 2nd

May the 2nd was a busy but a brilliant day nonetheless, spent quite a bit of money, but i thought it was all worth it. The day started off wif me heading to marina for soccer, which was fantastic, i like the guys im playing wif, who get along fine, and we played a cracker of a game, winning 11-2 ultimately. Well we din play exactly so well, but I thought we did well enough, should have been about 15-2 lar, but well mnaybe we should ask the losing team to pay for the whole thing next time if the team kena whack by double digitd. But i believe bringing girls did them in, somehow, the other team bringing girls has proved to be unlucky, cos currently we are 2-0 wif teams bringing girls, haha, and both were whacked with double digits some more haha.

Then after dat, it was off to fetch Uni, my specs were broke, so thankfully, she as always, being o reliable, brought the contacts. We watched Coach Carter, which was a fantastic movie, and reminded me of my experiences in JC wif Mr Tan a lot. Fabulous. I really enjoyed the movie, and having good seats were a plus too. Then we went around to HMV, then the annex, which was not as good as I expected it would be. We then went to eat at Sakura, which was no bad, before heading to Borders. We bought a book entitled "The New Singapore Dream" and I thought it might be a good tool for the biz, o I bought it. I was still 50-50 on it, till Uni told me that it was worth it, somehow, I really trust her word, and when she says something is right, it becomes right for me too.

After dat it was off to home meeting at Farah's place, which was @hill court Somerset. Nice place I must say, and the STP by TS was great too. But as usual things were a little long winded for my liking. I brought Bow, Russ and Ah Ang along, and talked to them about stuff, which I hoped they understood. Uni was there too so it was great.

The day ended off wif me and Uni taking a cab back to Pasir Ris, I was tired, but i was so contented knowing I had spent most of the day wif her, and seeing her smile. It was amazing, and worth every minute. Cant do this all the time, but I hope ervytime we do, it will be special like this one.
