Dats love
I was realli truly moved by this guy called Sherman today on American Idol. His wife of 20 years had passed away two days before the audition, and before she died he promised he would get on American Idol. And he said they spent their last few months writing a petition and he went out and got it signed. And everytime he went home, he would show it to her. He had 330 signatures on his petition as he was already 64 and the AI limit was 28 years old. This is the song that he sang for her, its a beautiful song first sung in the 60s by Patsy Kline originally, and u can instantly tell from the tune. I could not find the original version on youtube so here is a slightly contemporary one done by Kate Rusby on acoustic guitar. I included the words cos its simply beautiful.
And when he went out of the audition room he said "I'm a winner, I won."
This is music. And what he did for her was truly love.
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Just remember darlin' all the while
You belong to me
You belong to me
See the market place in Old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me
I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too, and blue
Maybe you'll be lonesome too, and blue
Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me
I'm gonna be so alone without you
And I'm hopin' maybe you'll be lonesome, too, and blue
See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Just remember darlin' all the while
Just remember darlin' all the while
You belong to me
Out.
