A Week of Ups and Downs

The past week has been realli busy and packed, but my apologies for not taking the time to write earlier, I actually just finished a run, so am doing entry up in between my circuit sets rest time. Anyways last week was awesome for a couple of reasons:

1) Finishing up work due
I finally ended the school term and I finished all my work on time, the last week, week 13 was crazy cos had 4 major submissions. So I decided to hand up 2 of them earlier, even though it was due on Friday. Which goes against my normal behvaiour realli, cos I usually have the habit of holding on to a piece of work all the way till as close as possible to the due date, never mind if its finished already. But somehow I decided that I wasn;t gonna make anymore changes so I handed up the first two. Friday came and I felt kinda satisfied that as everybody around me was rushing stuff, I was sitting back a bit, relaxing, perhaps knowing that I had already completed my work. I guess in the larger scheme of things I am just happy I didn't do things like I did during Bachelors, always leaving it to the last minute, then again, I had a bit less time in the past as well due to all the different commitments.

2) Winning the championship
And so it was, after 13 weeks of competition, we managed to win the UWA 5-a-side competition. We didn;t have our strongest team the other though, cos Soren was away in Korea and Darren had class, but we made do. Overall I think we did well, most imptly we produced results against all the big teams, beating all of them wherelse they cancelled each other out with draws and such. The team defended realli well in the final, and we were all over the opposition, everytime they got the ball they were covered by us, so I think all in all it was a deserved victory in the final and also a deserved victory due to the consistency we showed throughout the league period. The guys are already talking about defending the title in the summer comp, but I am a little reluctant honestly cos there are other things that I wish to do, like coaching, as well as the logistical troubles we had like interms of calling the people down and such.

But the end of the week was tempered with two bad things:

1) Injured during trg
We were scrimmaging during training when I jarred my ankle really badly against the ground. I could barely lock it after that and struggled a bit more before calling it quits. But overall, at certain angles my left ankle hurts, and it sux though cos I was finally achieving my goal of using more of my left foot during trg, and this had to happen. Oh well, what to do, anyways I think i'll be missing trg (for the first time in like 4 months) cos I realli need to rest the ankle. Running is ok, struggling a bit, but flexing it at odd angles is a definite no-no.

2)Man U Losing
Its frustrating when we lose cos we just cannot seem to get into gear. The team never got out of second gear on Sunday and paid for it dearly. Rio looks like he lost about ten yards of pace, and yeah we look thin in MF as well as in attack. Not sure how its gonna turn out, the season I mean, but a loss against Pool never fails to hurt. And its the 3rd straight loss some more. Watching it at the sports bar was awesome, but it also meant that the Scousers were out in full force to taunt us after the match. Oh well, thats all part of sport lar, take it in our stride. But just hope Man U wakes up soon.

I think you know you've written one too many papers when u start bloggin in a proper, organised format. Oh well, I've spent most of today in the office doing work, and I thought abotu staying till later, but I think I'll head home and continue work at home, cos I wanna get some food in as well.

Will put one or two pics up from the match when I can. In the mean time, school's out, exams are coming!

Missing all,
Az
